Kitten Gear
This page is all about the different kinds of gear you can find in Kitten Play.
What is Kitten Gear?
Kitten Gear can be a variety of things, mostly accessories and items of clothing, that Kittens like to wear to express their Kitten Side. There are many different things people like to wear as Kitten Gear, but we’ll be going over the following most common types of gear in Kitten Play:
- Collars
- Ears
- Tails
- Lingerie
- Cuffs
- Bondage equipment
- Scratching posts and toys
- Bowls
Collars
Collars are probably the most common type of gear. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials, and some shops will even create your own customised design. A collar is a great way to express yourself as a Kitten.
Most Kittens have several ones to match different moods, outfits and occasions.
If you’re too shy to wear a big buckled collar in public but you still want to wear something to express your Kitten Side, we recommend trying out chokers. Chokers are usually thinner than collars, a look that’s in between a collar and a necklace. It’s subtle, but cute! You can also try tattoo chokers with little charms attached to them, and steel collars which could pass for a bold necklace.
Ears
Kitten ears also come in many shapes and sizes, and are also something you can have custom made to your liking. You can get fluffy ones to match your hair or lingerie, in your favourite colour, or maybe to match the race of cats you feel like you resemble.
If you’re too shy to wear your fluffy ears in public, there are some other types of ears you can try that are a little more “accepted” by the public. Luckily for any shy Kittens out there, Cat Ears are a fashion Item nowadays.
You can get headbands with ears made of lace or pearls or diamonds that are a lot more subtle and casual looking. For an even more casual look you can also get caps, beanies and hats with cat ears attached to them. They’re very cute and a great solution for anyone who’s unsure about wearing their cat ears in public.
Tails
Tails are something most kittens like to wear at home, matched with a cute outfit or a nice set of lingerie. You can get thin tails, fluffy tails, short tails, long tails, and even tails with wire so you can shape it to look extra cat-like.
There are several different types of tail-attachment, that should be included in the description of any tail you might want to order. Keep in mind that not every tail attaches the same way. Some different types of attachment include;
- Ribbon ties
- Elastic belt
- Pins
- Belt loops
- Plugs
Note that some tails can’t be worn without clothing, and others can. Keep this in mind when you’re ordering your tail!
Lingerie
Lingerie is one of the most exciting ways of self-indulgence that every kitten deserves – stray or not! You’d be surprised to know what a tiny piece of clothing can do: It makes you feel good, happy and confident.
The high prices are justified because of the fabrics used: They come in luxurious silk, chiffon, lace, and lycra. The designs are intricate and worth every penny you spend.
Check out trendy lingerie pieces such as babydolls, rompers, chemises and teddies. If you can match the color of the lingerie with your ears, collar and tail you are golden! 🙂
Types of Lingerie:
- Babydoll, a short nightgown, or negligee, intended as nightwear for women. A shorter style, it is often worn with panties. Babydolls are typically loose-fitting with an empire waist and thin straps.
- Bodystocking, a unitard. Bodystockings may be worn over the torso, or they may be worn over the thighs and abdomen.
- Bodice, covers the body from the neck to the waist. Bodices are often low cut in the front and high in the back and are often connected with laces or hooks. Bodices may also be reinforced with steel or bone to provide greater breast support.
- Bras (Triangle bra, Push up)
- Bustier, a form fitting garment used to push up the bust and to shape the waist.
- Camisole, sleeveless and covering the top part of the body. Camisoles are typically constructed of light materials and feature thin “spaghetti straps”.
- Chemise, a one-piece undergarment that is the same in shape as a straight-hanging sleeveless dress. It is similar to the babydoll, but it is fitted more closely around the hips.
- Corset, a bodice worn to mould and shape the torso. This effect is typically achieved through boning, either of bone or steel.
- Corselet, or merry widow, combined brassiere and girdle. The corselet is considered to be a type of foundation garment, and the modern corselet is most commonly known as a shaping slip.
- G-string, or thong, a type of panty, characterised by a narrow piece of cloth that passes between the buttocks and is attached to a band around the hips. A G-string or thong may be worn as a bikini bottom or as underwear by both men and women.
- Garter/Garter belt, used to keep stockings up. A Garter belt is something that holds your stockings tight, which otherwise can be uncomfortable. They come with four straps and are usually paired with a corset, bodysuit and bustier sets. You could wear these with skirts or dresses. They can also be worn as a fashion item as seen in several Japanese fashion styles.
- Negligee, a dressing gown. It is usually floor length, though it can be knee length as well.
- Nightgown, or nightie, a loosely hanging item of nightwear, may vary from hip-length to floor-length.
- Panties, a generic term for underwear that come in all shapes, fabrics and colours, offering varying degrees of coverage.
- Tanga, a type of panty featuring full back and front coverage, but string-like sides that are typically thicker than those found on a string bikini.
- Tap pants, a type of short typically made of lace, silk or satin.
Cuffs
Cuffs are similar to collars and can sometimes even be ordered in matching sets (collar + cuffs). They’re worn for two main reasons, one being as an accessory, and the other being for bondage purposes. You can get wrist cuffs as well as ankle cuffs.
Bondage Equipment
Bondage can be used to made it more difficult for the kitten to remain on two feet, as well as more unstable on their feet in general. This helps simulate the scenario as they are forced to continue on all fours.
- Ropes
- Handcuffs
- Tape
Scratching posts and toys
Cats are naturally quite playful, and always like having things to scratch. Adding these into your kitten play can help the person feel more at home in their animal role, as well as giving some training opportunities with encouraging them to scratch the correct things.
Bowls
If your kitten play scenario involves a feeding element, then this will usually be done with traditional pet feeding bowls.
Even without the feeding element it is a nice accessoire if you enjoy to take pictures of your scene.
